Stella Rose and the “Shea Butter” Project
Stella Rose… a phenomenal woman. It only takes meeting her ONE time to know she’s a superstar, with a special gift and a great vibe that she brings to every social interaction. Shooting in the studio with her always feels breezy because her energy radiates in every single pose she makes. She makes every image look natural and effortless, but we all know there is a ton of work that goes into one’s appearance of being “effortless”.
Modeling is much more difficult than people give credit for (which is why we hear “modeling is so easy” in the same room as “I hate being in front of the camera”.) Modeling, especially when it comes to those who are marginalized, takes a whole lot of energy—physically AND mentally, especially if you see yourself as the face or representation of something much larger than yourself. We have to work even harder than the rest to put ourselves out there and get exposure. But although we are not without struggle or hardship, to have courage is to champion for yourself at all times, and to choose to fight for yourself everyday, despite the fear of obstacles and the unknown.
I am incredibly happy to have Stella as part of the CHARM family as our Brand Ambassador. When it comes to CHARM’s mission, and advocating for yourself to be seen and heard, her spirit embodies just that.
